Grapes: An Antioxident Breakfast
The other morning as I was about to make a greenie, I decided to try something new - grapes. I snack on them every once in a while, but had never put them in the Vitamix. I got a little creative and actually came up with a great little combo.
- 1 giant handful of washed, chilled red grapes (add more as desired)
- 1/2 a cucumber
- 1/2 an avacado
- 1/2 a grapefruit
- small handful of sunflower seeds
- water, ice as desired
There are lots of articles out there, but here’s a good, quick read on all the health benefits, which range from maintaining heart health to anti-aging and lowering the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. The grape-smoothie was perfect with the rest of my breakfast: 1 hemp waffle with 1/4 of a banana, 1 tblspn coconut oil, 1 tsp almond butter, sprinkle of cinnamon.
