When I see that flash of anger now I work with it. Extending compassion to myself and all beings. I use it as a chance to extend kindness in all directions.

This is a beautiful blog post - honest, raw.. it goes deep. Whether you grew up with violence or any behavior that affected you deeply, when you are brought back to those feelings now, as an adult, don’t ignore it or push the feelings aside. Work with them, work through them and extend compassion and kindness to yourself. One of the best books I’ve read on the subject is called RADICAL ACCEPTANCE: Embracing Your Life with the Heart of a Buddha written by Tara Brach. I highly recommend it.
