Build a 2012 Gratitude Habit

Tumblr friends! I’d like to be self-promotional for just a moment, but in the spirit of gratitude. A few years ago my partner and I built a site called Thankfulfor.com. It’s a gratitude journal product and community. You can share your posts with the community and beyond (Twitter and Facebook too) or make your journal private (I have 2 public journals and a private one!).
If you have never kept a gratitude journal, I’d like to suggest it as something you start in 2012. Writing down 2-3 things a day that you are thankfulfor is proven to help people improve their lives in a variety of ways - from improving overall attitude and well-being, to helping people achieve their goals.
I invite you all to set up a free journal on the site. We also have a free nifty iPhone app to make it convenient to post. We don’t make any money from it (we ask for donations if you find you use it a lot so we can maintain it, but thats of course totally optional) but we have found it immensely rewarding and have lots of ideas for improving it in the future.
Also, you can follow the Thankfulfor Tumblr here.
Promotion done. Carry on. :D

Tumblr Quote
Marriage is a gift you give to your spouse. It’s a gift that says, “I have fully enjoyed our past together, I fully enjoy our present together, and now I want to devote the rest of my future to helping you achieve your goals, to being with you, to you being with me, and to taking care of you (or vice versa) when we are old and sick, as we will almost assuredly will be.” You can’t give a gift like that lightly. The pieces have to be set up in the right spots. Everything has to be aligned. The slightest piece off could mean that your position has gone from “strikingly interesting” to “dubious”. The seeds of disaster are always right there in front of you if they exist.

Fascinating take on marriage. In our evolving society of social norms and constructs, I’m always curious how people think of marriage.
